Chapter 1078 Recap
Spoilers for this chapter were leaked a few days before its official release. Here is a summary found on Twitter. The traitor among the Vegapunk is revealed along with the reason for his betrayal. There is a brief scene on Sanji Vs S Shark where Sanji seems to take hits without any damage thanks to his new abilities. Luffy and his group are still fighting against the Seraphim. Zoro and Kaku flee to fight S-Hwak.
The narrator then takes us into a flashback that takes place three months ago. This allows us to understand the events leading up to the famous “egghead incident”. In this flashback, we see a mysterious person sending information to Mary Geoise. This person informs him that Dr. Vegapunk is researching the “vacuum century”. Mary sends Cipher Pol agents to capture Dr. Veapunk. As we know, agents get lost before they come back.
In the last two pages, we see that the traitor is none other than York. She talks about her intention to be the only remaining Vegapunk while smiling creepily.
