KarmaCode in Boruto Episode 291
In Boruto Episode 291, Code introduces himself and states that he worships Boruto because he is an Otsutsuki. But he suffers from having to feed Boruto with Ten Tails in order to grow the Sacred Tree. As Kawaki begs Boruto to leave, young Uzumaki is determined to end the fight before Naruto arrives.
The fight begins. Boruto uses shadow clones and unsuccessfully attempts to hit Code with a Rasengan. Code, meanwhile, uses White Karma to completely overpower his opponent. He notices that young Uzumaki doesn’t understand how to properly use Karma, since he only uses it to increase his power and speed. The true essence of karma lies in Otsutsuki’s combat experience. It can make anyone an expert warrior if used correctly.
Boruto accesses the true essence of Karma
Code attempts to stomp on Boruto in hopes of revealing Momoshiki’s true power. The latter, however, avoids the blow and lands far away. His body glows with a blue aura as he accesses Momoshiki’s powers without his mind being taken over as before.
This phenomenon is due to Amado’s drug, which Boruto consumed. Boruto’s increased power allows him to crush Code, but not beat him.
Momoshiki makes a surprising appearance
Code chooses to leave for now and return to Eida with Kawaki, but Kawaki resists. He creates a shadow clone to prevent Code from grabbing him by the claws while Boruto attempts to attack with his Rasengan. The fight resumes, and once again Boruto fails to land a blow, this time a Vanishing Rasengan.
At this time, Boruto begins to feel exhausted and collapses on the ground, having an epileptic seizure. Code seizes the opportunity to attack, but time seems to stand still, and Momoshiki appears, asking Boruto to switch places with him. As time begins to flow back to normal, Momoshiki creates a massive Rasengan, leaving Code stunned.
Naruto goes in search of Boruto and Kawaki
Meanwhile, Naruto, Ino, and the rest of the Sensory Team stop looking for Kawaki and focus on locating Boruto. Shikamaru approaches Naruto after finding out their location and informs him that they will go together as Code is also present with Kawaki and Boruto.
Hinata expresses her desire to follow Naruto, but the latter objects, explaining that if he and Hinata die, Himawari will be left alone.
Short recap of Boruto episode 290
In the previous episode, Boruto and Kawaki were frustrated at being placed under constant surveillance by Sensor Nishi. Kawaki faulted the former for being only superficially bothered by the surveillance. Meanwhile, Shikamaru and Amado talk, with the former accusing the latter of coming up with an elaborate plan. Amado, meanwhile, admits that what happened next took him by surprise as well.
That night, Kawaki tricked the Detector by cloaking his chakra and letting a shadow clone take his place. He had already left the village when Boruto realized something was wrong. Outside, with Eida’s help, Code tracked him down and they fought.
Kawaki then attempted to make a deal by sacrificing himself for the safety of the Leaf Village. But Code didn’t care about these little things as his current focus was to cultivate the Divine Tree and ingest the Chakra Fruit. Boruto arrived at the scene and swore to protect his brother.
